"Me and My House" is a song by American country rock singer Brantley Gilbert featuring Struggle Jennings and Demun Jones, released on July 17, 2024, as the second promotional single from Gilbert's eighth studio album, Tattoos.[1]
Content
[edit]The song, written by Gilbert and Jennings, references how the world has changed, and yet Gilbert's house will always praise the Lord. "But for me and my house / We gon' serve the Lord / Fly that flag out on our porch / Me and my house / We ain't raisin' kids / We're raisin God fearing women and men." The song maintains the country lifestyle along with the changing society we live in.[2]
Music video
[edit]The music video was released to Gilbert's YouTube and features Jennings and Jones in a house and backyard setting, fitting with the song's theme.[3] The video has five hundred thousand views as of September 19, 2024.
Commercial Performance
[edit]In September 2024, Gilbert released a behind the song music video, talking about the song's creation and meaning, saying on his Facebook, "Y'all have been loving this song.. so here's a little behind the song. Tattoos releases this Friday!"[4]
