Draft:Mendel Catholic High School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mendel Catholic High School was an all-male Catholic college prep high school founded in 1951 by priests of the Augustinian Order in Roseland, Chicago, in the US state of Illinois. Mendel Catholic High School was open for 37 years from 1951 to 1988.[1] The school's sports teams were the Mendel Monarchs. It was established by The Augustinians of the Midwest in cooperation with the Chicago Archdiocese. Fr. John Seary, O.S.A. led the installation of Mendel on Chicago's Southside blue collar community of Roseland at 111th Street and Martin Luther King Drive at the site of the retired Pullman Technical High School.[2]
