Muhammed Faris Mannekkara (born June 17, 1996) is an Indian social worker and businessman from Kerala.[1] He is known for his work in empowering women and children by helping them through multiple NGOs.[1] He is currently being appointed as the Global Peace Ambassador for the Diplomatic Mission of Global Diplomacy under UN 75.[2][1] He is also the founder of Supercarz Automotive India LLP.[3]
He received the Community Leader Award from the Kerala State Women's Development Corporation and the Youth Leadership Award from the Kottayam Social Service Society in 2023.[1][2]
Early Life and Career[edit]
Faris was born in Calicut, Kerala, to Marakkar and Kadeeja. He completed his B.A. in Political Science from Annamalai University.[4] After completing his studies, he started working as a Salesperson in a car showroom.[5][6] He faced a financial crisis due to bad debt.[5] With the guidance and support of his mentor and family friend, Shailesh C, he was able to overcome this. Shailesh advised Faris to invest in the second-hand car business and also provided the initial capital to him.[2][7] Faris later quitted his job as a salesman and established Supercarz India Automotive LLP.[8] He began his social work career by joining the Sankesh Foundation, where he has been working there for the last 6 years.[4]
During this time, he also earned a doctorate in Social Work from AUGP. He also started working with Help Age India, a NGO that deals with providing care for senior citizens. He worked in different 20 states of India and was later appointed as Ambassador of Justice and Peace for the United Nations Organization's Diplomatic Mission in India.[4]
Social Work[edit]
He volunteered for Sankesh Foundation to organize charity events and secured donations through his network which supported over 300 women in the last 6 years.[4] He work with the Smile Foundation, an NGO that focus on providing educational resources and scholarships to underprivileged children, where he raised funds for them, it benefitted 150 children.[2]
