Sanda Wundlu Shandu is a South African actor and model. He won a Fleur du Cap Theatre Award. On television, he is known for his roles in Skemerdans (2021) and Donkerbos (2022–).[1] His films include Good Madam (2021) and The Kissing Booth series (2018–2021).
Early life
[edit]Shandu grew up in Newcastle. He went to boarding school at Cordwalles Preparatory School in Pietermaritzburg and then Michaelhouse in the Balgowan valley. He graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology and Economics from the University of Cape Town in 2014.[2]
Career
[edit]Shandu made his feature film debut in the 2018 Netflix teen film The Kissing Booth as Randy, a role he would reprise in the film's 2020 and 2021 sequels. He then starred in the Xhosa film Good Madam directed by Jenna Cato Bass, which premiered at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival, and played Charlie Ngcobo in the kykNET series Skemerdans. In 2022, Shandu starred as Tsedza in the Showmax series Donkerbos and reunited with fellow Kissing Booth star Zandile Madliwa in the film 1960.[3]
Personal life
[edit]Shandu married Nokulunga "Lunga" in a small ceremony December 2020.[4] He lives in Cape Town.
