The United Party of Canada is a minor social conservative federal party in Canada.

History

[edit]

The party was founded in 2024 by Grant Abraham, who unsuccessfully ran in the leadership election of the Conservative Party of Canada in 2022.

Ideology

[edit]

While self-identifying as a big tent, the party is both socially conservative and Canadian nationalist.[1] The party supports religious freedom, opposes LGBTQ+, opposes the carbon tax, wants to eliminate lawmaking powers of the Supreme Court of Canada in favour of laws being exclusively determined by elected parliamentarians and opposes what they consider "Ceding of our nation’s sovereignty by agreements with the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the World Economic Forum."

Election results

[edit]

While the United Party of Canada has never participated in a federal election, the party leader Grant Abraham has unsuccessfully ran in the 2024 Durham federal by-election garnering only 0.73% of the vote.[2]
