On the Notability of Diffusion Fundamentals
[edit]There are only a few secondary sources on the conferences and the journal Diffusion Fundamentals as a whole. This is probably because their subject matter is very interdisciplinary and, although it makes important contributions to individual disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biology, medicine and various social sciences, it is only marginally recognized in each of these academic subjects. But it is precisely this interdisciplinarity that is their strength. This is the only explanation for the fact that the conference series has been taking place successfully for 20 years, is located worldwide and two volumes of the journal are filled every year. This alone should be considered to ensure sufficient notability. In addition, books resulting from the conference series have been published by renowned publishers and have also received awards.
It should also be noted that articles about conference series have appeared in Wikipedia that are documented by notably fewer secondary sources, for example International Conference on Composite Materials and International Electric Propulsion Conference.
