Farah University (Persian: پوهنتون فراه) is located in Farah province, Afghanistan.[1]
After the Taliban captured control of Afghanistan, Farah University was run by Maulvi Noor-ul-Haq Mazhari, who was the deputy head of the so-called Islamic Emirate's higher education department in the southwest before the Taliban came to power and was the special representative of the Ministry of Higher Education at Farah University after the Islamic Emirate came to power. Almost a year after the Taliban's capture of Afghanistan, Mufti Nematullah Ansari, who was in charge of the councils of Farah universities before the Islamic Emirate came to power, was elected as the head of the university in the Higher Education Department of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. After the leadership changes in the Ministry of Higher Education, when Sheikh Neda Mohammad Nadim was elected as the acting minister, Mufti Samiullah Ahmadi was sent as the head of Farah University.
