In October 2023, the RCH-155 was mentioned as likely selected in October 2023 because the Rheinmetall option is not technologically mature enough.[27] In April 2024, Germany and the UK committed on developing the RCH-155, which would further support the intent of the Bundeswehr to make it their additional howitzer.[28] The delivery is expected to take place from 2029.
