Geoffrey Brooks (born November 9, 1962) is a Professor of Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology, Known for fundamentals of steelmaking[1][2][3] and non-ferrous metallurgy.[4] His research in these fields has earned him awards from organizations such as the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST),[5] the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS), and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3).[6][7]
Background[edit]
Brooks was born in Melbourne in 1962. He graduated with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from RMIT[8] in 1984, completed a Bachelor of Arts (HPS, Media) Swinburne University of Technology in 1989[9] and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Melbourne[1][8] in 1994.
