George Halcovage III is an American college basketball coach, currently the head men's coach for the Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team.[2][3]
Playing career
[edit]From 2004 to 2008, Halcovage played college basketball at Babson.[4][5]
Coaching career
[edit]Halcovage joined Jay Wright at Villanova in 2008 as a graduate assistant and occupied various roles including video coordinator and director of basketball operations until 2017 when he was elevated to an assistant coach.[6] Upon Wright's retirement in 2022, Halcovage was retained as an assistant coach under Kyle Neptune. During his time with the Wildcats, he was part of seven Big East regular-season champion squads as well as four Final Four teams, including the 2016 and 2018 national championship teams.
On March 31, 2023, Halcovage was hired as head coach at Buffalo to replace Jim Whitesell.[2][7][8][9][5]
