Gilbert "Pee Wee" Holmes was a Canadian actor and stunt performer known for his short stature. He appeared in more than 70 Hollywood films between 1920 and 1934, and often co-starred in Tom Mix comedy Westerns.[1][2]

Biography

Gilbert was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and raised in Miles City, Montana. Before he became an actor, he competed in rodeos around the United States. In the early 1920s, he began appearing in Hollywood westerns.[3] During that decade, he and Ben Corbett produced and starred in a series of comedy shorts that ran before Universal's feature-length Westerns.[1] He died on August 17, 1936, in Los Angeles, California.[4]
