Hala Shukrallah (Arabic: هالة شكر الله; born in 1954) is the former president of the Egyptian Constitution Party,[1] having succeeded Sayed Kassem as the party's leader.[2] She is the first Coptic woman to head an Egyptian political party.[3] As president of the Constitution Party, Hala Shukrallah had articulated as major goals the revitalization and expansion of the party,[4] as well as the achievement of revolutionary objectives, such as repeal of the protest law,[5] opposition to military domination of politics,[6] and freedom for political prisoners.[7] Her brother is Hani Shukrallah,[8] who was the founder of Ahram Online.[9]
