Jeff Radwell (born 1990) is an American research scientist who is the founder and CEO of Camouflet, a Los Angeles based software startup specializing in pricing solutions powered by artificial intelligence (AI).[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Radwell was raised near Philadelphia, PA in a family of educators. He also spent part of his childhood in the Chinese city of Guangzhou and special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau. He attended the George School.
He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Business Administration from London Business School, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Imperial College London Faculty of Medicine.[2]
Radwell is actively engaged in philanthropic initiatives, with a primary focus on supporting educational causes. His contributions to the Stanley Primary School's "Living Classroom" earned recognition at the prestigious 2016 Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show, earning the Silver-Gilt Medal.[3][4] Radwell also serves as a sponsor of the Point Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing college scholarships to LGBTQ+ students. [5][6] His involvement reflects his personal commitment to supporting community development, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of equal opportunities for students from marginalized backgrounds.
Career

[edit]Beginning his academic career at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine,[7] Radwell focused his research on applying real-world data and machine learning algorithms to address significant public health questions amid the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.[8] This work was supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which provided resources in building operational infrastructure to facilitate the study's objectives through advanced data analysis.[9]
Radwell's efforts in developing novel machine learning algorithms and use of multivariate statistical methodologies led to the creation of the first computable phenotype for Long COVID, contributing to its formal definition.[10][11] His analytical approach harmonized data from three research networks within the NIH's "REsearching COVID to Enhance Recovery" (RECOVER) initiative: PCORnet Adult of Weill Cornell Medicine and PCORnet Pediatric of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, both funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C), overseen by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS).[12] The RECOVER Initiative is a $1.7 billion national research program focused on advancing the understanding, treatment, and prevention of Long COVID across the United States.[13][14]
Camouflet
[edit]In 2024, Radwell founded Camouflet, a company whose flagship platform uses AI-driven analytics to respond to market fluctuations in real-time. Radwell's vision for Camouflet was shaped by his research background and extensive experience in data analytics."[1]
