Josh Kelly is an American football wide receiver for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He previously played for the Fresno State Bulldogs and for the Washington State Cougars.

Early life and high school

Kelly attended San Joaquin Memorial High School located in Fresno, California. Coming out of high school, Kelly was rated as a three-star recruit, where he decided to commit to play college football for the Fresno State Bulldogs.[1][2]

During Kelly's four-year career at Fresno State from 2019 through 2022, he appeared in 27 games, where Kelly totaled 87 receptions for 1,305 yards and four touchdowns through the air, while also adding 28 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and returning 12 punts for 225 yards. Kelly was also named an honorable mention all-Mountain West selection.[3][4][5][6] After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Kelly decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[7][8]

Washington State

Kelly decided to transfer to play for the Washington State Cougars.[9][10] In week four of the 2023 season, Kelly hauled in eight receptions for 159 yards and three touchdowns, as he helped the Cougars to a win over the Oregon State Beavers.[11] Kelly finished his lone season at Washington State in 2023, notching 61 receptions for 923 yards and eight touchdowns.[12][13] After the conclusion of the 2023 season, Kelly decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[14][15]

Texas Tech

Kelly decided to transfer to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.[16][17] In Kelly's first game with the Red Raiders in week one of the 2024 season, Kelly brought in ten receptions for 156 yards and a touchdown, in a win over the Abilene Christian Wildcats.[18]
