KYBOE is a Dutch upscale fashion brand founded in 2007 by Dutchman Dick Sijmons, which sells watches with oversized dials and bright colors.[1] In 2015, the company set up a U.S. based office in Boca Raton, Florida,[citation needed] when American investors Bell and Roos acquired a stake in the company.[2]
History
[edit]Dick Sijmons began making bright, colorful and fashionable plastic watches in 2007, under the name Kyboe.[3] After seeing a positive response within the Netherlands, they expanded the offerings to include more durable stainless steel cases.[4] By 2008 the plastic watches were phased out entirely.[5]
KYBOE started selling in the US in 2016.[6]
New partnership
[edit]American businessman Marc Bell joined KYBOE in 2014 as a distributor, and in 2015 became a partner.[7] Bell brought business partner Joseph Roos, an expert in retail and finance, in to the partnership.[2]
Until 2018, the company was headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida,[6] with additional operations in the Netherlands and Hong Kong.[8]
