Li Bing (李昞; d. 572), was a Chinese politician of the Northern Zhou dynasty, during the Northern and Southern dynasties period. He was the father of Gaozu, the founding emperor of the Tang dynasty.

His father, Li Hu (李虎), served as a major general under the Western Wei general Yuwen Tai, and was created the Duke of Longxi in 554; Li Bing eventually inherited his father's title, and became the Duke of Tang (唐國公) in 22 September 564.[1][2] He was appointed zhuguo on 27 June 571.[3] His posthumous title was the Benevolent Duke of Tang (唐仁公).[4]

After his son became emperor, he was granted the posthumous name of Yuan (元皇帝) on 19 July 618, while his temple name was Shizu (世祖).[5]

It is likely that the "Wang Jian" mentioned here refers to Wang Bing (王秉), whose names have been rendered as "Wang Jian" or "Wang Kang" (王康) in order to avoid the naming taboo of Li Bing. Vol.62 of Bei Shi indicate that Wang Sizheng was made Jun'gong of Taiyuan and that his son Wang Kang inherited the peerage when Sizheng died; Wang Kang was eventually made zhu'guo (王思政,太原祁人,....,帝乃西迁。进爵太原郡公....子康,...后为周文亲信。思政陷后,诏以因水城陷,非战之罪,增邑三千五百户,以康袭爵太原公,...保定二年,历安、襄二州总管,位柱国。) However, vol.5 of Zhou Shu indicate that Wang Jian, who was Duke of Taiyuan, was made zhu'guo on 26 Jul 571 ([天和六年]六月乙未,以大将军、太原公王柬为柱国。). Then, vol.6 of Zhou Shu further indicate that Wang Kang, who was Duke of Taiyuan, was made the official in charge of military affairs in Xiangzhou on 8 Feb 575 (建德四年春正月戊辰,...,太原公王康为襄州总管。).
