Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College and Hospital (India)

Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College and Hospital is a private medical college cum hospital that was established in the 2012. The college imparts the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree. It also offers nursing and para-medical courses. The college has multiple healthcare facilities and a newly established Kalyani IVF centre which is located in Saharsa, Bihar. The Lord Buddha Hospital associated with this college is one of the oldest and most recognized hospitals in Saharsa. The college is currently affiliated with the Bihar University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the National Medical Commission [1]. Admission is done on the basis of a yearly cutoff merit list via the National Eligibility and Entrance Test under the directions of the BCECEB. The undergraduate student intake in 2024 was 150.

The college was previously affiliated with Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University until 2022 after which it became affiliated with the Bihar University of Health Sciences from 2023 onwards.

The college spread over 40 acres provides good infrastructural support and facilities. Academic and practical learning is prioritized with all equipment to aid students in better learning process and enhance clinical knowledge. Hostel is separate for boys and girls with attached washroom and good internet connectivity along with good mess facilities.

Hospital

The hospital provides major health care facilities and services with well-equipped modern technology. The hospital contains an outpatient system and indoor patient system with around 400 beds. The hospital is currently expanding, and major areas are under construction.

History

The college was conceived by Lord Buddha Siksha Pratishthan, society (Buddhist Minority) and founded by Dr. P. K. Singh in the year 2012 which was registered under the Society Registration Act of 1860, Government of Bihar.
