I don't expect California to necessarily secede, and I do believe that the overall notability of the event, such as for instance with the creation of a specific article FOR this event is not warranted yet until and unless it remains as an enduring movement that continues to receive support and discussion in media. But the event that so many did make statements and receive multiple articles in reputable journals, TIME is reputable enough to cover these kinds of political tweeting, demonstrates notability. The numbers reported here in national attendance regarding the protests are not common especially in the United States, where large scale protests are more rare. I think any time there have been thousands protesting in coordination across the United States, it has been notable. Sumstream (talk) 17:48, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I also felt comfortable replacing those because discussion had not yet been started here and more editors, as far as my count, had attempted to post rather than remove the headlines. I know the warning stresses to err on the side of caution and maybe I was out of line, but I didn't feel in doubt, so I apologize if I caused trouble. There was some difficulty with someone editing as an IP address ignoring consensus and the 3RR policy; the page is now semi-protected for one week, and an administrator has spoken to the editor, so, with any luck, the matter is finished. Icarosaurvus (talk) 18:08, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why this news item says "Hillary Clinton supporters". I don't see this distinction stated in the two references, and I don't think it should be assumed. Harris7 (talk) 19:08, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That headline I did just copy in entirety from earlier postings, on my own review of the references the most I saw was the locations being referred to as having prominent Democratic bases, and as you say, no mention of Hillary support at all. In light of this I tried to better frame the headline. Sumstream (talk) 19:53, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
