Ruyan (Persian: رويان)[a] is a city in the Central District of Nur County, Mazandaran province, Iran.[4] It is on the Caspian Sea. Ruyan was a part of east Ruyan.[5]

At the 2006 census, its population was 6,339 in 1,708 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 7,102 people in 2,081 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 7,731 people in 2,461 households.[2]
