This is not my first building GAN review; I've reviewed Los Arcos Mall before. However, I've only done 2 GANs in total, so please correct me if I do a mistake.

---|---|---|
1. Well-written: | ||
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct. | All of the prose in this article is clear and concise. | |
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation. | The article has been checked for words to watch. Lead summarizes the content. Fiction and list policies is not applicable here. | |
2. Verifiable with no original research: | ||
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline. | All of the proses in the article are referenced. | |
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose). | The sources in this article came from the New York Times, New-York Tribune, Curbed NY, DNAinfo New York, New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, The Brooklyn Daily Eagle Emporis, The Brickbuilder, and The Real Estate Record: Real Estate Record and Builders' Guide. All of the former sources are secondary and reliable, while the latter seems to be a primary source. After inspecting the usage of The Real Estate Record: Real Estate Record and Builders' Guide, it seems that the primary reference is used properly: the first source cited two technical facts and the second source cited a sentence about naming. | |
2c. it contains no original research. | Article has been checked. | |
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism. | As expected, most of the Earwig copyvio check's false alarms came from Matthew A. Postal's pdf. Most of the information from the book have been paraphrased well enough. The rest is OK. | |
3. Broad in its coverage: | ||
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic. | Article is in scope and discusses the development and the appearance of the building | |
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style). | Article is in focus and does not go into unnecessary detail | |
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each. | Article is neutral, indicated by the sentencing. | |
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute. | Article did not experience any major or minor edit war. The entire article is made by a single author. | |
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio: | ||
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content. | Images in this article were made by the author himself. The US copyright laws applied freedom of panorama, so the copyright tags are valid. | |
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions. | All images in this article are relevant and on-topic. | |
7. Overall assessment. | Thank you for your satisfactory response to the inquiries. I hereby declare that this article has passed the GA nomination. --Regards, Jeromi Mikhael 15:52, 24 June 2021 (UTC) |

[edit]the onetime leader of the Tammany Hall political ring.
- should this be a one-time instead?- Done.
However, the firm retained "Grand Rapids Furniture Company" as its corporate name.
- The word "However" or its counterparts does not appear in the source. Could you change this to avoid WP:SYNTHESIS.- Done. However, "However" is just a conjunction meaning "although". Epicgenius (talk) 15:24, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
18 East 50th Street is in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City, on the south side of 50th Street between Fifth Avenue to the west and Madison Avenue to the east.
- "is located in the" (to avoid confusion)- In this context, "located" may be redundant. That word is used to establish location, which is given immediately afterward in the same sentence. A similar situation applies to words like "situated". Epicgenius (talk) 15:24, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
in what was characterized by contemporary media as the "Perpendicular Gothic" style.
- should be "by The Real Estate Record: Real Estate Record and Builders' Guide as the"; there were no mention of contemporary here- I have changed it now. However, "contemporary" is just a word meaning "living or occurring at the same time". The Real Estate Record was published at the same time as the construction of the building. and contains a roof 132.91 feet (40.51 m) tall.
- no mention about this in the source. Am I missing something or is there a paywalled section I'm not allowed to see?- I have fixed the height to show what it said in the source. It may be paywalled/unavailable outside the US. Epicgenius (talk) 15:24, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
particularly St. Patrick's Cathedral.
- "particularly with the/the St. Patrick's Cathedral"; clarification- I have clarified this, but "St. Patrick's Cathedral" isn't preceded by the definite article "the". Epicgenius (talk) 15:24, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
The building has no setbacks because it was designed just before the 1916 Zoning Resolution would have required such setbacks.
- sentence is confusing. Did you mean: just before the 1916 Zoning Resolution that would have required such setbacks- Done.
- Wikilink ashlar.
- Done.
However, the following week, the journal reported that the company would construct a new structure for its own use.
- this page mentions that the Real Estate Record and Guide is a report- Changed.
Journalist Joan Murray, a partner in the agency, was subsequently charged with hiring two men to beat up Castleberry at his office; the men had not done so only because all three were Black.
- is this sentence relevant to the article?- After the bankruptcy, Murray asked the men to beat up Castleberry and throw him out the building's window. It would have been funny as a DYK hook, but I still removed it. Epicgenius (talk) 15:19, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
Pictures
[edit]- The only non-infobox image in here depicts the second floor. Probably move this to the first section?
- I moved this to the "Facade" section and added another image. Epicgenius (talk) 15:24, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
References
[edit]- Regarding the "Hampton Shops Building" reference, why is the source cited with "Landmarks Preservation Commission" instead of "Postal"? Shouldn't harvnb represents the author's name instead of the publisher's name?
- Because I've expanded a lot of NYC Landmark articles, I use "Landmarks Preservation Commission" as the default ref anchor. However, sometimes I forget to change this back when I'm finished. Further complicating the issue is the fact that older LPC documents do not have authors at all. Epicgenius (talk) 15:24, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- Reference #24 and #26 is the same?
- Fixed.
- Source #7 is broken
- Fixed.
