I didn't know Round 10 had been completed... Nic Car Bel (talk) 11:49, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some idiot thinks it's funny to forecast the results. I reverted their edits, as anyone may have done. PKT(alk) 11:52, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I'm just not that good at removing stuff from tables...but for a moment it looked like 3 quarter progress scores of last weeks games..just thrown in on random games...one of them looked like the Carlton v Adelaide game at 3 quarter time Nic Car Bel (talk) 12:00, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Game notes

[edit]

There has been, in my opinion, a poor trend with regard to the tone and relevance of the game notes included in each round. Many ordinary games just have their result reiterated, but done as a review commentator would do. I have endeavoured to improve the tone of comments, and leave only those which have some sort of statistical quirk. Aspirex (talk) 07:28, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I do like reading some comments but there are just too many. With St Kilda's 12 straight wins, It is worthy of being there, but is it needed to have Collingwood 1929, Melbourne 1953, West Coast 1991 124.182.90.237 (talk) 10:07, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

can someone create the retirment section , coaches changes section? Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bossboss1234 (talkcontribs) 09:52, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

it would be good. But it would be nice if it actually got completed this year 124.182.102.34 (talk) 03:38, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Michael O'Loughlin retired today for end of season. does it go up now or end of season?

End of season. Nick carson (talk) 08:53, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Win/Loss Table notes

[edit]

Please note that the convention for the win/loss table is that all home games are to be labeled in bold and away games in standard typeface. Someone (203.206.42.207) has gone through and labelled all the winning games in bold, now someone will have to go back through and fix it, quite annoying. Nick carson (talk) 04:04, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the wins in this table in green, and the draws in blue? This makes more sense to me, and seems more like the common way to do this sort of thing. – Allied45 (talk) 11:39, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely. The colours are odd, and there should be an explanation that the numbers refer to the points differences in each match. PKT(alk) 16:07, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's fairly obvious, so is the fact that numbers in bold are home games, yet somehow editors are still editing the table incorrectly, I still havn't had the time to go back through and correct it all. I'm happy if we want to change wins to be coloured green and draws in blue, let's just wait and have further discussion before we jump in and change it. Nick carson (talk) 08:51, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Update: It's taken me 30 minutes to fix just Adel, BL, Car & Coll's rows in the win/loss table. I've included the green colour for wins and blue for draws, perhaps this will give us a good comparison to decide which colour configuration to use. Nick carson (talk) 12:36, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I had some time on my hands so I went through and checked all the margins, made sure the win-loss-draw colours were correct and home games were bolded. Because of the size of it there could still be some errors, so if anyone wants to double check, feel free. For next year it might be a good idea if someone reviewed it every week so that it doesn't get near the end of the season and the task of checking becomes huge. As for colours, it would make a lot more sense to have wins as green and draws as blue. Alltech2009 (talk) 09:15, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How are you planning to define home games? Does each team get 11 (ie first named team) or is Carl vs Freo at the Gold Coast home game less? Other games in ACT/NT/Tas? Derbies/Showdowns? Saints vs Ess at the Dome? The-Pope (talk) 14:36, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Home games are defined by the AFL, not us, they're listed in this article under "Home Team" and "Away Team". Nick carson (talk) 09:08, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Retirements and delistings

[edit]

The AFL have a useful page on their website for this section at 2009 Retirements & Delistings, which provides details on all the clubs' retirements and delistings as well as links to the related news articles. As metioned before, it would be good to have a completed table this year. Thanks, Allied45 (talk) 09:05, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
