Inclusion of club games

[edit]

I feel club games should remain included in the article as they were integral parts of the touring nation's schedule and received plenty of coverage to the same. Skeene88 (talk) 16:39, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

“Integral” implies something a little stronger than was actually the case. Yes, they were part of the touring sides’ schedules, but no more so than a touring cricket team’s matches against English county sides. Looking at recent Autumn series listings on the World Rugby site, matches against local club sides are always omitted; the only club matches that we make an exception for are the ones involving the Barbarians or the French Barbarians. – PeeJay 00:47, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But what is reported for games now doesn't matter I'm not arguing for including Bristol v South Africa XV, it was how things were reported at the time that matters. The three games in question were reported as being part of the same touring schedule,"Match report references the Australia tour as a whole and is in Autumn internationals section". and "South Africa v Saracens". with the quote "South Africa, who have also lost to Leicester and France this month, play Italy in Udine on Saturday before rounding off their tour against Six Nations Grand Slam champions Ireland at Croke Park on 28 November." Including those three games is the most accurate representation of the end of year international schedules. Apologies for the reversion of the other changes too, I was just looking at the ones I didn't agree with rather than all the individual bits of the edit.Skeene88 (talk) 20:04, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
