We need to add in the logo for this series. It's seen on this promotional image here, but I can't find a picture with just the logo.

Image

[edit]

I think that the image I added to Infield fly rule would be good to illustrate this article, but I can't figure out how to fit it in. If anyone has a good idea, feel free. ProfessorTofty (talk) 01:51, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Added. Thank you, RefereeOrganist (talk) 20:44, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested Name Change

[edit]

All media about the 2012 Wild Card Game refers to it as such, not the "Wild Card Playoff". This can be seen on MLB's official website here. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/ps.jsp?y=12 ..... I propose that the main Wild Card game article be renamed to Wild Card Game, as other articles about the baseball postseason don't use MLB in the title, (Division Series, League Championship Series, World Series). I also think it would be wise to create separate articles about the NL and AL Wild Card Games, as the LDS and LCS have. This would follow suit with other Wikipedia articles, and would fall in line with the official media. --Rekameohs (talk) 10:07, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think both Wild Card Playoff articles should be merged into one and renamed as Wild Card Game and 2012 Wild Card Game, as Rekameohs suggested. They even use the same logo.--NULLSPACE (Φ) 20:50, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Easter Egg

[edit]

When you see St. Louis Cardinals, wouldn't you expect the link to be [[St. Louis Cardinals]]? I certainly wouldn't expect it to take me to 2012 St. Louis Cardinals season. That is the definition of an easter egg link. If you want to link to the 2012 season, it needs to be explicitly mentioned that it's the 2012 Cardinals. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:08, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That depends on the context. When you see St. Louis Cardinals on a 2012 postseason page, you'd prefer seeing what they did in 2012 season? or what they did from the very beginning? Are there consensus discussions about this? e.g.WP:Baseball--NULLSPACE (Φ) 23:23, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I tend to agree with NullSpace...usually in an article about a postseason event, I would rather see how they did during the season. The first link on their season page is their team page, so it'd require an extra click. That being said, if you link to the Cardinals team page, in the infobox there's a link to their current season. I could really go either way. Go Phightins! (talk) 14:35, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

History of post-game umpire calls against the Braves

[edit]

The list of umpire calls against the Braves in post-season seems lacking in objectivity. It sounds much more like sour grapes on the part of Braves supporters.
