This has happened again but this time I didn’t do it does anyone know how to fix it view this and compare it to this page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:2022-23_United_States_Network_Television_Schedule Hoopstercat (talk) 19:33, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Time to publish?

[edit]

Since NBC unveiled their schedule just recently, is it okay to now publish this page or that occur after all the fall schedules have been revealed? 136.57.191.25 (talk) 16:13, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Probably after they’re all revealed. Honestly on a related note, I’m not sure how well Upfronts will do for my 2023 in American television page if not enough of them will be specified for winter or spring. I’m wondering how early I should move it… CreecregofLife (talk) 16:47, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This page is already set as a main space page Hoopstercat (talk) 01:53, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Primetime and Late Night schedule combination

[edit]

Since Late night is often called prime + (plus) and it has barely any programs (on Saturdays only Primetime encores and SNL, on weeknights only talk shows) so does it make more sense to combine those 2 entirely? Hoopstercat (talk) 00:34, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hours on the schedule

[edit]

I did this on the last tv season but I will say it again here: We need to get this straightened: for the Saturday schedule mostly is the 7 or the 11 pm et hour supposed to go in here? (Since I would say yes to 11 pm et more then 7 pm et in the current and the next tv schedule since both hours are similar to primetime in some way (since primetime sports overflow to the 7 pm et hour making the afternoon schedule putting continued until game completion and a lot of local programming in that hour the 11 pm et is about the same since we have a SNL note that’s why we need that program on there to reflect the note and it’s the only program outside of primetime repeats on Fox In that hour (too similar to Fox primetime Saturday since The prime + (plus term is used for late night sometimes ) and for Sundays it’s local programming on most networks except NBC and CBS which are overruns of its primetime programming due to sports so let us know your thoughts either here or on the previous tv season and let’s get this figured out thanks for the understanding Hoopstercat (talk) 14:45, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That’s why I did the revert on the IP. I get it, CreecregofLife (talk) 15:51, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks man just wanted to hear your thoughts since it is possible to likely put it on all days to balance out potentially Hoopstercat (talk) 16:24, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I’m not quite sure that’s necessary. Don’t want to have too much creep and encroachment CreecregofLife (talk) 16:31, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I agree too since 7 pm et is all local on weekdays (except for TNF pre game show which we don’t have to worry about that anymore due to its rights move to Amazon) and Afternoon only has 3 networks so less space there and 11 pm et hour is late night for weekdays (since it’s talk shows and News program on ABC) so we consider weekends as Primetime Plus and 7 pm et on Saturdays since it’s just local programming on Most networks and Overflow of primetime sports Hoopstercat (talk) 23:21, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A Million Little Things

[edit]

As of right now (30 August 2022) ABC has not announced season 5 as the final season of A Million Little Things. The speculation is out there that this will be the final season and I believe it will be. But ABC, showrunners or the creator have not announced season 5 as the final season yet. https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/entertainment/a40968424/a-million-little-things-season-5-return-dj-nash/ https://www.tvinsider.com/1057418/a-million-little-things-canceled-ending-season-5-abc/

"When A Million Little Things in May scored an eleventh-hour renewal, Deadline reported that Season 5 was expected to be the final one for the serialized ensemble drama. The network did not confirm it at the time and has yet to acknowledge that AMLT will be ending this coming season, but that remains very much the case". Quote taken directly from the below article dated 22 August 2022. https://deadline.com/2022/08/a-million-little-things-end-season-5-final-season-canceled-1235097908/

I am happy to discuss the matter here but please refrain from adding incorrect information and speculative information. When ABC announce season 5 as the final season then it can be added. Liam74656 (talk) 19:28, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To the person who keeps adding A Million Little Things to the final season/cancellation - as of today (3-September-2022) ABC and creator DJ Nash have NOT announced season 5 as the final season. There is a lot of speculation that it will be but this has not been confirmed yet. Please refrain from adding false information to the page until it is confirmed. I am follow the correct Wikipedia rules by removing false information. Liam74656 (talk) 23:04, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The latest announcement only said that season 5 has been renewed but not the final season so it shouldn’t be there yet (it should go in the returning series though since it’s renewed) Hoopstercat (talk) 01:10, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Totally agree with you. The show is on the returning list. But it has not been cancelled or announced as ending. When it is announced as the final season it can be added to this list.
It is speculated that season 5 will be the final season - DJ Nash has mentioned that he is planning Season 5 as the final season but as you said, it hasn't been announced as the final season. I am happy that I am not alone in this discussion. Liam74656 (talk) 23:38, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Survivor/The Amazing Race

[edit]

Is there an explanation of why those shows are included with their season numbers on every schedule? Other reality/competition shows like The Voice or American Idol do no include them. If there's no valid reason they should link to the shows' main pages like every other show. — MrE (talk) 23:02, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree on this there’s no reason for this to occur unless there’s a different title like Masterchef back to win etc a number is just the season number and thus not needed to be included Hoopstercat (talk) 22:47, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Canceled shows

[edit]

We need to address this since it’s been repeatedly happening, so should canceled shows either have a color of some sort instead of just being removed from the schedule after it’s final airing? Hoopstercat (talk) 01:58, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ion television

[edit]

Should we add ion tv stations since it now has sports programming and we can make it somewhat it and encores plus maybe even mynetworktv so what do you guys think on this? Hoopstercat (talk) 20:26, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Schedule translation

[edit]

So I have a question on this with a recent edit, we have summer encore programming that is happening in early September so how are we going to need to address this? (Since to me that’s a summer encore and for the fact it’s starting to air on 9/1 makes sense for it to be in here rather than the next tv season (since next tv season always start with fresh programming coming from the upfronts in May) Hoopstercat (talk) 01:59, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian produced programming

[edit]

I don't understand the Canadian programming legend. I think either should be added including all non-American programming or not be added at all, as it might be irrelevant since each show's main page includes the country of origin of the show. — MrE (talk) 22:56, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I believe this needs to be done since there is a lot of shows being done outside of the US (it’s like Canada using US shows to fill it’s programming) this needs to be done the other way too, whether that be all international programming or just Canadian programming. Hoopstercat (talk) 02:05, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Documentaries docuseries

[edit]

Do we consider these types of shows as irregular scheduled programming? (Since it only airs on occasion)? Hoopstercat (talk) 02:35, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ratings colors

[edit]

Currently the ratings colors for the top 30 are getting mixed up with the categorization of the stuff above it so should we do the top 30 in highlights instead? Hoopstercat (talk) 23:25, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What do you suggest with those highlight colors? BattleshipMan (talk) 23:38, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So for example: SNF is a sporting event and in the top 10, so I believe the following should happen: the sporting event category should be indicated by the color box and the top 10 should be indicated by the highlight, so they are both used since they fit in both categories, same with other shows, instead of the top ratings overwriting the category the show belongs in Hoopstercat (talk) 02:02, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Categories colors

[edit]

So looking at the schedule rn we just need 3 more colors to really fill up what the rest of the series with the white coloring, 1 for dramas, 1 for reality series and 1 color for none of the above categories so what you guys think on this? Hoopstercat (talk) 20:07, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of the category colors, what’s the point of having so many! I’d understand for sports, reruns, imports and maybe game shows but not every stinking category! This nonsense also applys to the 2023-24 lineup too. Can this stuff be removed please? Nostalgia Zone (talk) 12:23, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
the goal this season is to have everything colored like all the other schedules, most shows fall under the main 3 categories, reality, dramas and comedies, this is where the highlights for the top 30 come in, so we don’t have to recolor when those come out, since some of the existing colors need to be combined into 1 color, like encores just need to have the (R) Legend and have the color the show belongs since it gets removed after each season, and movies really are considered as irregular programs so that can be combined etc. Hoopstercat (talk) 18:20, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That makes no sense. To have everything colored is way too much and an eyesore. As for Indagate’s idea of no color only letters, while an intriguing idea goes against these articles in the past. Combining the letters with colors, sure but having too many colors or none at all is frustrating. I’d suggest the idea of again combining the letters with the color system in the 2021-22 primetime schedule. Nostalgia Zone (talk) 21:27, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then what we need to do is have a letter indicator for all of the above items then Hoopstercat (talk) 23:29, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Another thing we need to do is we need to select lighter colors so that way we can still read the text (since darker colors is what is making it unreadable) Hoopstercat (talk) 23:32, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And also when we pick categories make sure they are big enough to fill a bunch of shows into that category (like currently the movies category is so small it can go with irregular scheduling etc) the biggest category’s we have rn are comedys (which animation could go with),reality shows and dramas Hoopstercat (talk) 23:41, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Have removed the colours on 2023-24 article, they go against MOS:COLOR as conveyed information only through colour, so visually-impaired people wouldn't be able to get that information. Have added letter legend system which is okay for accessibility, and can represent multiple categories if required. Indagate (talk) 19:05, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The fix on this is put lighter colors instead of darker colors Hoopstercat (talk) 23:34, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, lighter colours still goes against accessibility MoS of MOS:COLOR, please read it. We cannot give information using only colour, needs to be alternative way of getting that information for especially visually impaired people, and using 20 different colours in a table is confusing for anyone. Indagate (talk) 07:14, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then we will need to use both of these things Hoopstercat (talk) 10:54, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The way it looks rn in the 2023-24 schedule is the way to go @Indagate but now we kind of need to add in a bit more color for more general categories (try to be broad and not specific in terms of categories) Hoopstercat (talk) 10:58, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We need to make sure that whatever colors make things readable or not use them at all because some of the colors on it make whatever shows on unreadable. We need to make sure whatever or not we can use them or if it doesn't work for the vision-impaired people and such, we shouldn't be using them at all. BattleshipMan (talk) 16:48, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there's tools linked in MOS:COLOUR to check whether colours are suitable for accessibility. Indagate (talk) 17:53, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Indagateanother thing should this color and letter coding used for all schedules in the 2022-23 season as well or we starting fresh with all this in 2023-24? Hoopstercat (talk) 20:04, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like all pages similar to this will need to be fixed over time, for consistency and to follow MOS:COLOUR. Indagate (talk) 20:37, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is agree and another point to consider should we use numbers to represent top 30 instead of letters as that is more appropriate for the given category? Hoopstercat (talk) 23:49, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah can do, the letters can be anything so can use "T10" where currently just a letter for example
Any other categories than Top 10/20/30 do you think are needed? Indagate (talk) 11:32, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Having so many different colors is, in fact, incredibly pointless. Especially a light teal for other programs, which is going too far. Let's just stick to the originals. (see 2021–22 United States network television schedule#Legend) —theMainLogan (tc) 11:38, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Agree except movies can be combined as burn offs instead of its own category, and keep imports as a category Hoopstercat (talk) 11:42, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The 2021-22 article is better than this one currently, but the Magenta and Red don't have enough colour contrast, and convey information using only colour against MOS:COLOUR. Indagate (talk) 12:07, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well then let’s move reality shows to light purple and make movies red with burn offs since there’s not enough of those in that category Hoopstercat (talk) 21:55, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've decided to be bold and change the colors on the page. I hope I've done a good job! —theMainLogan (tc) 19:25, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This actually looks great I believe we need to do the same to 2023-24 but with the letter coding included Hoopstercat (talk) 02:34, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Something should be done about the colors.

[edit]

The crimson cell color for the reality shows makes links extremely hard to read and essentially implies disfavor for the colorblind. Same goes for the light brown for comedies. —theMainLogan (tc) 11:21, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blue's for animation and news, and pink, also hard to read. See above section, #Categories colors. Have edited 2023-24 to reduce categories and add letters so don't need to rely on colours. Once that's articles basically done and follows MoS, can do same to other articles like this one so consistent. Indagate (talk) 11:29, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah we need to pick different colors for all of those categories Hoopstercat (talk) 11:43, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Shows from streaming services/other networks

[edit]

So I have a question about this: so if a tv series has aired on a streaming service then it makes its tv debut later on would that be considered as a repeat or new episode of that given series? Hoopstercat (talk) 21:14, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
