If memory serves, American Express Canada was not incorporated as a bank in Canada until the Brian Mulroney administration. I've been trying to come up with an exact date. As I recall, there was a bit of a stink about it. --Dhodges 00:35, 23 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dates and Copy-Edit Verification[edit]

I've edited for some clarity, but the dates of incorporation seem incorrect. In particular the 1998 date cited for the order-in-council seems off as it is 8 years after the date of incorporation as a bank. Since the 1990 date is backed by a newspaper citation I would question the 1998 date. Can someone confirm these dates? Also, could someone confirm that the copy-editing seems complete and remove the copy-edit tag?

Copy-edit done of what little text is actually in the article. I have removed the copy-edit tag. However I don't think that the very long list of services/products that the bank provides is really suitable to an encyclopaedic entry - it reads more like an advertisement.
