Why "Airport"?

[edit]

There are many more of these types of vehciles being used in any one other industry alone than in all airports combined (retirement villages, for example). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.102.19.175 (talk) 21:28, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Height-adjustable bus

[edit]

Any one know about height-adjustable buses for airside transfer? Seems like Montréal-Mirabel International may have them.

That is briefly mentioned here (middle section of the webpage): http://www.citytransport.info/Buses01.htm

Shuttle bus redirect

[edit]

I think this is a bad redirect as shuttle bus as a term can be used to refer not just to airport shuttles but various other short trip buses. For example in Calgary there is a bus which runs from an LRT station to a mall about 5 minutes away which is referred to as a shuttle bus.[1] As such I'm going to turn it into a disambiguation.--Crossmr (talk) 02:53, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think airport buses date back even earlier than the 1960s...

[edit]

...in fact, as far back as just after World War II, when the then newly-created British European Airways established its service between Central London and Heathrow, as well as ones to Croydon Airport and Northolt Aerodrome.

During the 1950s and early 1960s, these services were worked using "one-and-a-half deck" AEC Regal IVs:

Technically, these vehicles were coaches rather than buses - but they performed exactly the same duties as the Routemasters that replaced them. Bluebird207 (talk) 22:31, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
