Resident Clans

[edit]
Relation map about Lewis (1999)

@Linkjan2014:@Apaugasma: I saw your edits.([1][2]) Quoting p.109 of Lewis' book in Google books,[3]

The Jibriil Abokor lands extend from Dila to Dubur (near Teiso), the ‘Abdalle Abokor from Dubur to Hara Adad, and the Husseen Abokor from Hara Adad to Hargeisa. Mixed with these but mainly with the ‘Abdalle Abokor are the less numerous Ugaad Abokor.

The Wikipedia phrase "It is primarily inhabited by people from the Somali ethnic group, and is dominated by the Reer Geele, Abdalla Abokor sub divisions of the Sa'ad Musa subclan of the Habar Awal Isaaq." does not contradict the above description, but Allaybaday is not located between Teiso and Hara Adad, nor does the name of the clan Reer Geele appear. I think this phrase in Wikipedia is original research (or unsourced), what do you think?--Freetrashbox (talk) 11:28, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to ping:
Hi Freetrashbox! In my edit here I was only reverting because Kooshin Macalin's changes (here) were without explanation in the edit summary and without citing a new source. When patrolling I revert this type of changes on sight (without checking the source) because the large majority of them are disruptive and because the editor who made them can always redo the change with an explanation or with citing a new source.
However, sometimes the unexplained and unsourced change might actually be a correction of wrong or misleading information, which is of course unfortunate when the editor does not return to explain or add a source. When someone explains (as you do) that they checked the source I will not revert again without checking the source for myself.
In this case, I don't have the time or interest to engage with the sources (this article also is not on my watchlist anymore), so please make the change you think is necessary. ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 18:18, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the reply. I am not sure yet about the accuracy of this description, but in general, I think that the descriptions of clans in Somaliland are often not correctly drawn even if sources are attached.--Freetrashbox (talk) 10:43, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
