Was anybody given asylum in Cuba before 1959 ? Should we make it clear this covers just post-1959 ? -- Beardo 22:45, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is a Amazing Fact hidden by mass media —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.52.179.101 (talk) 00:51, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only reference to Almeida as a physician is from a blog post with conspiracist presentation--that the "Pentagon denied he ever existed." The newspaper article references a confusion over his anglicized name and confirms him as a PFC. A surgeon would not be a PFC, nor would he be "Demoted" to PFC, but simply dismissed. I've removed the physician reference unless better sourcing comes along.76.219.160.21 (talk) 03:02, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know who added the blog post, but the Courier-Mail source supports the claim that he was a physician. Any claim to contrary, if unsourced, is original research. Therefore, I will restore. Savidan 06:08, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No Extraditions?

[edit]

I came to this page because I was reading about Joseph Dibee, an American fugitive who was arrested by Cuban authorities and brought to the U.S. Was this an extradition? If so, the article is out of date. https://www.oregonlive.com/portland/2018/08/fbi_arrests_long-time_fugitive.html Isaac Rabinovitch (talk) 04:09, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Really Biased Headline

[edit]

This Article should be called Amerixans granted asylum in cuba or something alike, this clearly takes the site of the US that they are criminals, which is disputed. --2003:E9:7F05:4C00:942A:D38B:F87F:FF31 (talk) 04:36, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
