clarify company name

[edit]

According to [1] 湖南海翼电子商务股份有限公司由前 is the name of the company, which owns the Anker brand. Google translate reads as Hunan Haoyi E-commerce Co., Ltd..

Is there a guideline for chinese company names? Was it romanized correctly?--Yamavu (talk) 21:33, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also the name Ocean Wing does popped up during my research too, it might be part of history by now. Maybe they were early sponsors? --Yamavu (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:50, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Improve product information, product categories and references

[edit]

The article doesn't capture some of the expanded business operations and product category offerings. For instance soundbars and the line of home security systems and autonomous vacuums from the eufy trademark. It would be good for the article to feel more current with the scope of the brand or its innovations.

There is also a serious need for more third party sources.

Awards

[edit]

Anker was one of five companies to win Top Prize in Good, Cheap and Fast's 2020 Value Awards:

It's a recognition that, from a statistical perspective, Anker products have above-average ratings and below average prices.

Possible Article Change (IMPORTANT)

[edit]

Hello, I feel as that the article should be changed to about Anker Innovations due to the subname being (company) and that Anker is not a company, but a brand under Anker Innovations. WiiBoi (talk) 23:05, 10 February 2021 (UTC)WiiBoi[reply]

I think it is important to accurately capture and comprehensively represent as much information as is applicable. It wouldn't hurt to make that distinction and to also update the images/logos to match current.

POV

[edit]

The controversies section needs to be toned down a bit. It seems like it has an obvious anti-Anker bias. I just don't want Wikipedia to be caught in a product or corporate libel case. ANDROS1337TALK 18:57, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Paul Moore findings need a date and a reference.
I'm not sure the "used to train a facial recognition AI" claim is known/factual.
The whole paragraph is missing mention of the Euphy and Anker responses during the controversy. (except as mentioned in the anti-Anker media coverage) 73.222.78.29 (talk) 18:48, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Andros 1337: Per WP:LEGAL/WP:LIBEL, I would like an explanation on your edit summary, "refs contain potential libel". Proper Wikipedia content does not contain original research, and the issues covered in the controversy section are supported by a wide variety of sources. We do not censor Wikipedia on the possibility of any unproven legal claim alone. I would also strongly caution you if you are implying removing the NPOV tag, as part of good-faith editing, as "vandalism". You are obligated to use the discussion page before taking such extraordinary measures. Jumping this process and even threatening editors is a violation in itself.

Since you are presumably still claiming the section is disputed, even with the improvements since you placed the tag, the burden is on you to provide a detailed list of which parts of the paragraph you believe are biased and not supported by facts and the citations. "Seems like" is not adequate when the tag itself is contested, and the bar for legal concerns is not ambiguously not wanting to be caught in a potential legal libel case. We have policies that address these situations that have been reviewed by WMF Legal.

Several editors have since worked on this without further comment from you. I am willing to look at your policy-based concerns if they have not been address in the improvements since you added the tag to see if they can be addressed. Thank you, Mkdw talk 21:10, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
