Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.)

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and, if allowed under fair use, may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, provided it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore, such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. — Golden call me maybe? 08:23, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Golden I think you may have removed a bit to much. Although there seems to be some duplication of https://www.hrw.org/news/2021/03/19/azerbaijan-armenian-pows-abused-custody, a lot of the overlap is quotes (as shown by earwig). Also you've blanked the whole article, rather than removing the copyright violations themselves, is that absolutely necessary? -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 21:23, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@ActivelyDisinterested: When the copyright issue of this article was first raised couple months ago, the entire piece was originally written without any quotation marks, and instead of properly handling the situation, literally everything was later put into quotation marks. The copyright problem is not resolved by excessively quoting, and excessive use of quotes is still a copyright problem (Overquoting). But of course, I'm no more of an expert than you or anyone else, so feel free to try another approach if you think it will work. — Golden call me maybe? 07:37, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I haven't completely blanked the page. In relation to the entire article, my removal was fairly minimal. You likely refer to the Investigation of potential copyright issue header, which will remain up until an admin examines the article's copyright concerns and decides whether or not to revdel. — Golden call me maybe? 08:24, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! My mistake, you right I just hadn't seen that template in action before. Just ignore me. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 10:10, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@ActivelyDisinterested@Golden I've cleaned up the problem, found a bit more and removed/requested revdel, and removed the template; I'm honestly not sure why we blank articles, as that practice started long before I joined, but I think it also helps to keep the article "stable" while the copyright clerks, admins, and other community members assess and clean up/rewrite the article :). Golden, don't forget to place the warning template on the creator's talk page (or on whomever added the content). Sennecaster (Chat) 15:17, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Sennecaster: Thanks. I was going to put a warning template, but the creator is already blocked, so I didn't see the point. — Golden call me maybe? 15:19, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
