Since there is a list for TVB programmes, how about one for ATV programmes to rival that list as I know of a few imported programmes that has not being mentioned on this page which was shown on the channel, they were Initial D, Macross, Kamen Rider Series. Also when I was young, I was then living in HK, ATV used to show Cantonese dubs of The A Team, Dukes of Hazzard and Knight Rider WilliRennen 14.34 1 Mar 2006 (utc)

That is absolutely not needed. ATV hardly has any good programmes (other than that series about the insurance industry recently, and even that has extremely poor ratings), and most of the programmes it makes are forgotten pretty quickly. Wikipedia is not a name storage facility for D-Rated programmes. Let's keep the godawful list that it will turn out to be out of Wikipedia. Arbiteroftruth 21:33, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Very interested to know that AVT dosen't as none of my relatives in Hong Kong watch ATV in the evening :), lets face it, there are too many list pages in Wikipedia! WilliRennen

Has the quality of ATV programming really fallen to such a low level? When I was in HK (around the time Macross was aired) I and all my anime-watching friends watch almost only the anime from ATV (complaints to the quality of their dubbing notwithstanding); the TVB offerings then were much more inferior.—Gniw (Wing) 00:30, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism

[edit]

it's said in Critcism that viewing figures for ATV Home have fallen sharply. I know that ATV's is extremely much smaller than TVB, but i think it's been the case since very very very long time ago. Does it really get even worse than before? Any citation?

I have heard from someone that at one time, ATV's rating fell to 0 pts. for one show (note: in HK, 1 rating point=approx. 65,000 people). But alas, my memory is not a good source of citation here. Can anyone confirm that? Arbiteroftruth 04:31, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Though ATV programmes are usually much less popular than TVB ones, their ratings rarely fell to 0 pts. Usually they are around 15-20 pts, in my memory. - Alexander the Mans 16:29, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't that a bit high, Alex? TVB gets at least 20 pts. even for their crappist programmes. Wouldn't 4-6 pts. be much a much more realistic estimate? I was flipping through some very old magazine and I got that figure. Arbiteroftruth 22:57, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Current ATV Logo 2.jpg

[edit]

Image:Current ATV Logo 2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:23, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RTV

[edit]

I am moving all the RTV info to its own page. It is becoming too confusing for all the historical pages linking to Rediffusion and double-directing to ATV. Benjwong 04:00, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ATV World Needs its own page

[edit]

Just like TVB Pearl, ATV World should have its own page. TheAsianGURU (talk) 21:51, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"ATV" or "aTV"?

[edit]

"ATV" and "aTV" are used inconsistently in the article. Should this be corrected? XP1 (talk) 07:36, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: page moved. Agree a hatnote would be good but I can find no suitable target. Andrewa (talk) 15:07, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The result of this discussion was to merge into article. Wefk423 (talk) 11:46, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant and advertising info, also talking about the same company. Wefk423 (talk) 15:42, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think there may be a possibility that non-disclosure might be involved in Asia Television Digital Media Limited. Pyxis Solitary 09:48, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Pyxis Solitary: I agree. I have also considered requesting a speedy deletion for its advertising content (WP:G11). But still decided to create a discussion to merge to the main article of the company. What do you think? Its also a problematic article with lots of issues. –Wefk423 (talk) 11:27, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Agree that if content is going to remain it should be merged. But I also think there's something about it that just doesn't feel right. Pyxis Solitary 11:32, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that Asia Television Digital Media Limited is the new name for the company Asia Television so I support the merger of the two articles. I have removed the spammy text from Asia Television Digital Media Limited as per WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:46, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
