Should this be UKTV or UK.TV. I added a link to the BBC page some time ago as UKTV (Australia). Mintguy 13:45, 1 Dec 2003 (UTC)

I believe so, they refer to it as UKTV on their website. I would suggest renaming to UKTV (Australia and New Zealand). --DeadlyAssassin (talk) 06:53, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Query

[edit]

Is the following really true? In Australia, UK.TV is required by law to broadcast a quota of local content, so in addition to British programming, it has repeated Australian soap operas Sons and Daughters and Prisoner Reason I ask is that I can't think of any Australian shows on UK-TV these days. And certainly on free-to-air repeats do not count towards the required quota of local programming, so why would repeats count for Foxtel if they had the same requirement. Those show were def. on UKTV but maybe not for the reason claimed by this article. Asa01 19:47, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's almost true. UKTV doesn't have to screen a quota of Oz programs, but it does have to *fund* them. They partially funded "Changi" for instance. These programs they put money into, of course, will probably screen on the channel. (http://www.acma.gov.au/ACMAINTER.65640:STANDARD:991144607:pc=PC_91809) matturn 11:44, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Australian UK.TV website also contains this info. ant_ie 18:29, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
