I think I can attempt to review this. An anonymous username, not my real name 16:36, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose, spelling, and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
See below for some tweaks I would recommend.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (reference section): b (inline citations to reliable sources): c (OR): d (copyvio and plagiarism):
Citations and references are good and it passed my copyvio check. While I can't access all of the sources, the information in the article is consistent with those that I can access.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
I understand that there is only so much information available, but I'd like to at least ask about a couple things below.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have non-free use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
I think a map of the geopolitical situation of Bahram Mirza's era might help, if you can find one, but I won't push it if you can't.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

Here are some wording/layout suggestions I have:

  • The lead should probably be condensed into two paragraphs.
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:23, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • He participated actively in the war with the Ottoman Empire, including his Ottoman-backed rebellious brother Alqas Mirza. This sentence needs to be rewritten somehow, specifically the part after the comma.
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:23, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • In 1524, Shah Ismail I died and was succeeded by his son Shah Tahmasp I, who had the same mother as Bahram Mirza. I think the phrase "full brother", though already used a couple times, is a better and less contrived way of describing their relationship.
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 19:56, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Bahram Mirza participated actively in the war with the Ottoman Empire who had invaded Iran during the ensuing few years. I am a little confused about this sentence; do you perhaps mean "preceding" instead of "ensuing", or am I reading something wrong?
Ops, adjusted it. Thoughts? --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:23, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • It was during this period that Bahram Mirza died (11 October 1549) It would be more natural to work the date of his death into the main prose rather than placing it in parentheses.
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:23, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • To the best of my knowledge, the term "pen name" is not traditionally hyphenated.
Removed it. --HistoryofIran (talk) 19:56, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • sister of certain Imaduddin Shirvani. ?
Removed it. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:07, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There are also some areas where more information, if it can possibly be found, would be helpful:

  • His death was "possibly" due to an overdose of opium; are there any further details you can provide about this?
Hi, and thanks for the review. I hope you don't mind me replying to your comments in this way. Unfortunately the sources doesn't go into more depth regarding this. --HistoryofIran (talk) 18:55, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • On 9 April 1550, Alqas Mirza was killed by being thrown from the castle. Do you have any information on why he was executed a relatively long time after his surrender?
Unfortunately not. But this was purposely made brief since Bahram Mirza was already dead by then. I just wanted to fully conclude that story. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:13, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Bahram Mirza only had one known wife, but I notice that the text seems to imply that it is possible two of his sons were not hers. Is there any other information about this?
Unfortunately not. Adjusted it a bit to mention that their maternal descent is uncertain. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:07, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • The significance of Ibrahim Mirza is not mentioned, unlike that of his other two sons, who are explicitly stated to have become governors. Going off of this, during what years did those two serve as governors?
Added info on Ibrahim Mirza. Unfortunately, I could only find the full dates of Ibrahim Mirza's governorship period. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:11, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Why were his sons put to death?
Added why. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:07, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies if I'm being overly picky, but I simply want to ensure that this article is in the best possible shape before it reaches GA status, which I'm confident it will. I'm placing it on hold, and you are free to work on addressing my suggestions at your leisure. An anonymous username, not my real name 18:51, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@An anonymous username, not my real name: I don't think you're being picky at all, this is a great review. I have tried to address your points, please lemme know if there is anything else. HistoryofIran (talk) 21:25, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@HistoryofIran: I am very impressed by how quickly you addressed this review. I understand that a lot of topics simply have limited information to be found, so thank you for doing what you could. I took a look at the article again and it definitely meets all six criteria (and you incorporated my feedback well), so I will pass it now.
