Battle of the Battle of Bear Paw
[edit]I renamed this web page because the previous version of the name was incorrect. Most references refer to the battle as the "Battle of the Bear Paw" or "Battle of the Bears Paw" or "Battle of the Bears Paw Mountains" but never "Battle of Bearpaw Mountain". The associated geographical feature is the Bears Paw Mountains (plural), not "Bearpaw Mountain" (singular). Most references use "Bears Paw" or "Bear Paw" in referring to the battle (or the mountains), and many Wikipedia entries (such as the Havre, MT article) could not find the Wikipedia entry under "Bearpaw Mountain".
Also note that the battle was not in the mountains but in the plains to the north of the mountains.

(Je ne parle pas Francais).Smallchief (talk) 14:02, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
Low importance?
[edit]Start Class? Low Importance? For Montana? Like what has happened in Montana that was more important than the Bear Paw Battle and Joseph's speech? Well, OK, there was that other battle at the Little Bighorn. Smallchief 03:00, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Agree! This is of great regional and American Indian significance. SAS1964 (talk) 17:14, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
- I changed the importance to high. Smallchief (talk 18:47, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
