The section Meyerhof's Bearing Capacity theory ends with a link to a page that offers to make a calculation of bearing capacity (using Meyerhof's equations) and invites you to pay to download a spreadsheet file. This doesn't seem congruent with Wikipedia standards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.77.134.126 (talk) 22:31, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is this title too ambiguous?

[edit]

bearing capacity, load bearing capacity , load bearing etc.. so many contexts. could this be renamed bearing capacity (soil) to prevent confusion. bearing capacity itself could link to a DAB or definition MfortyoneA (talk) 01:55, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Explantions and example please!

[edit]

While there are some attempts to explain the quantities used in the formulas better explanations, preferably with typical values for different soil materials are needed. There are some links, but often these articles are in even greater need of improvement.

An example, e.g. a rectangular building a*b m2 is to be erected on ground with a certain soil type. How much may the building and its contents weigh? It is good if the sample building has a basement to illustrate that this space helps the building (before stuffing stuffing the basement with contents) to "float" on the ground, and how certain ground parameters (pore pressure) will vary with the depth of the basement. 150.227.15.253 (talk) 10:33, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
