Disambiguization of River names

[edit]

The Bistriţa river is one of the names of Romanian rivers which needs disbambiguization. However, in the case of Romania, the use of historic provinces is not the best way to differentiate the rivers. Actually using Bistriţa (Moldavia), Bistriţa (Transylvania) and Bistriţa (Vâlcea) is inconsistent. Moldavia is the name of a province, Vâlcea the name of a county. Actually Bistriţa (Moldavia) is incorrect as the river crosses from Transylvania to Moldavia. If we use Bistriţa (Transylvania) we don't really know to which one the article refers. This is not really a disambiguization.

The correct way to differentiate the rivers by river basins. Administratively the rivers in Romania are managed by river basin agencies, and therefore it would make more sense to indicate the river basin to which the rivers belong. Thus we should use Bistriţa (Siret), Bistriţa (Someş) and Bistriţa (Olt).
