Louis-Fisher
[edit]The ISS (and overseas docs which might have used this as their source) give Louis-Fisher's first name and title as: Major General Matshenwenyego. However, Mmegi, the Botswana Sun and other Botswana newspapers give Lieutenant General Matshenyego. I'm inclined to believe the latter. JackyR 17:50, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Even the Bots gov sources give the latter. Egs: Gov, Mmegi, ISS book launch JackyR 17:56, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Extreme Lists
[edit]A list of equipment does not cite anything, and it looks like a wishlist.
Sir Jazer 13 (talk) 11:51, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
It does look like a wish list. Been trying to follow it and it does not make sense, Tempest II (talk) 23:34, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Incorrect information?
[edit]"Being a landlocked country, Botswana has no navy but has acquired a piece of land by the Namibian coastline which will be used to build a world class navy. With a new uranium mine opening in two years time in northern part of Botswana, it is not yet clear if the country will try to acquire a nuclear bomb." This sounds hard to believe- but then I know nothing about Botswana. Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

Tables of equipment
[edit]Some tables of equipment have been removed by other editors, I think because they have been moved elsewhere. They should not be reinstated here via edit warring. If anybody feels that they should be restored here, please engage in this discussion to seek consensus first. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 13:15, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
- no need to crowd up the article with duplicate tables located on a separate page. - FOX 52 (talk) 13:22, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
- Who moved them where and why? Why not make us aware of it in any case because the first person to do so (talk) said was "was clearing a mess" the table is not overcrowding the article in any where, I made the table with sources I had and referenced and some people would add more that was not my doing perhaps if you feel it was too long, I have you have seen the Nigerian Army & Rwanda Defence Force who used my template you would understand why, other than going to each other User Talk to notify one another to gang up against the table. I think the table should be restored — Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.167.79.68 (talk) 14:30, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
- First, thank you for coming here, I hope we can now make some progress together. The aircraft are listed at Botswana Defence Force Air Wing. I do not know about the other equipment; @FOX 52:, can you enlighten us? Per WP:OTHER, how other pages deal with it is not directly relevant. Rather, since they copied the IP's model they may benefit from a review too. It may be we should post invitations to this discussion on their talk pages, but I'd suggest we get a clearer idea of the issues here first. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 15:09, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
- Because this is an overview of the BDF, the page should give the reader a general description of the specific branches without over inundating them with too many details – That should be reserved for the specific branch services Air Force, Navy…etc. Then you can lay into the tables and such. IMHO - FOX 52 (talk) 01:05, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

IMAGES ADDITION
[edit]FOX 52 has been reverting my edits claiming "the article is overloaded"with images & as such has made himself the gate keeper with the final say whereas this article on contrary has only 2 images & the images inserted are within a very small multiple image table — Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.167.79.78 (talk) 20:28, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- follow this rules Wikipedia:Image dos and don'ts. 47.152.62.185 (talk) 20:44, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Of the image cluster the CF-5 fighter is low quality, the Gulfstream appears to be operated by the government, & not the BDF, and the "Outgoing Botswana Defense Force Commander" is too vague. - leaving the Botswana Special Forces which is a good picture. - FOX 52 (talk) 03:43, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- the Gulfstream is registered & operated by BDF Air Arm, its public knowledge & i tell you this as a member of the BDF — Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.167.79.78 (talk) 17:24, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

ADDITION & REMOVAL OF PICTURE GALLERY
[edit]I added a picture gallery few days back that has been reverted, it would be helpful in most cases to give us the reason/s as to why some of this new additions are entirely removed or atleast tell us what could be improved or ommitted as I believe it doesnt hurt for the article to be improved and updated from time to time
Protection
