Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.

With regard to Bourbon Whiskey, it can be made anywhere in the U.S. where distilling is permitted. See entry Bourbon whiskey for more information. Cowdery 04:24, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Bourbon County, Virignia and Fayette County, Virginia were not separated in 1795, because Kentucky became a state in 1792. Either the year of their separation is incorrect, or the auspices of the state under which this occured is wrong. Fayette County, Virginia, was established in 1780 and Bourbon County, Virginia, was carved from Fayette in 1785. Cowdery 04:24, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Merger proposal

I don't believe that the new article, Old Bourbon, has sufficient independent content to warrant a separate article - the history of Bourbon whiskey for example is the history of both Old Bourbon and the existing Bourbon County and should not be pulled from this article in order to appear there. An expanded section on the original, larger area could be integrated into this article. JohnInDC (talk) 12:19, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Meantime I've restored the "bourbon whiskey" section to this article - even though the whiskey appears to have originated from an area outside the current county boundaries, it's hard to justify not including a brief discussion of the whiskey in an article about "Bourbon County Kentucky".  Done Works beautify as a section. Sense I'm the only person who objected to a merge, this can be done boldly without a merger proposal. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 20:18, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Looks good to me. Thanks! JohnInDC (talk) 21:37, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
