Necessary?

[edit]

If there are only 10 cases confirmed in D.C., is this page even necessary at this time? So far there are only sub-articles for 4 U.S. states, which have 100+ cases (well, NY currently listed as 95 on the U.S. article, but more were confirmed this afternoon). ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:40, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It seems a little duplicitous to limit the scope of an article to cover only a part of what it did, and then want to delete it because what it currently covers isn't significant. Natureium (talk) 20:49, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Natureium, I understand, but even if you add in numbers for Maryland and Virginia, you're still far below 100. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:56, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
i agree with Another Believer, I just wanna state my agreement and creation of an article seems ... early to say the least. The statesthat have 100/near 100 cases are notable enough to warrant an article. Unless the state reports near 100 cases, I would favor the deletion of the article. I have expanded the article significantly. There has been a significant impact on the area especially since it's the centre of American government. I think it warrants an article. AryamanA (talk, contribs) 01:21, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for expanding the page. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:35, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject COVID-19

[edit]

I've created WikiProject COVID-19 as a temporary or permanent WikiProject and invite editors to use this space for discussing ways to improve coverage of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Please bring your ideas to the project/talk page. Stay safe, ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:47, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Organization

[edit]

This page desperately needs a different structure. It's well sourced but the timeline is overly detailed. A good example of possible headings is 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Columbus, Ohio. Bangabandhu (talk) 12:52, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Bangabandhu: I disagree. This is DC, the nation's capital, and arguably more important than a city by itself would be. And this is still less detailed than the articles for individual states. AryamanA (talk, contribs) 16:07, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think another structure might make sense. There’s a timeline then a section on government response. But the timeline contains a lot of information about the mayor’s actions. Would it make sense to move the information from the government response section into the timeline? MarylandGeoffrey (talk) 00:25, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the page is very redundant, and while a timeline may have a place in the page, there's no reason for it to be the focus. Bangabandhu (talk) 16:42, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
