Not sure when an article is no longer considered a stub. I will add more if this isn't long enough

True or false??

[edit]

True or false: sometime within the second half of 2004, RickK is expecting there to be a Wikipedia article for Canada and U.S. currency compared that talks about how the two currencies of the United States and Canada are alike and different. 66.245.11.223 14:32, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

  • That sounds like a great article. I don't really know enough about US currency to make it. Theres already some on the Canadian currency page though - Thesteve 08:51, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)
But RickK appears to want it deleted. 66.245.117.101 00:02, 27 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Oh well, if it gets deleted, I'll just add a Currency section to Canadian and American economies compared describing the effect of the Canada-US exchange rate on the economy. Thesteve

It finally got deleted. 66.245.92.116 13:39, 2 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Question

[edit]

I thought that the raised dots for the blind were not Braille, but a system developped by the Bank of Canada. Can someone confirm this? (Unsigned comment by User:Davidl)

Confirmed. [1] --Lucky13pjn 03:11, Dec 20, 2004 (UTC)

Check out this article Canadian currency tactile feature. Martin-C 19:32, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures of bills

[edit]

Any reason why there are no pictures of the bills? They are on the Bank of Canada site. Sorry if this is a newbie question. --YUL89YYZ 21:49, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)

How the Canadian Bill was counterfeited

[edit]

I have been trying to find the article done by the fifth estate as to how the Canadian 20 was counterfeited. Apparently it was a Canadian man who went to some US company, and was shown how to bypass all these security features, hologram, dots, raised ink, etc.

I can't find this article! This was the leading reason as to why the Canadian currency was changed. ALL of Canadian bills will now have security features, from the 5 and upwards.

  1. a holographic stripe
  2. a watermark portrait
  3. a windowed security thread
  4. a see-through number
  5. raised print
  6. fine-line printing
  7. fluorescence —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.200.115.84 (talk) 21:06, 7 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Deleted images

[edit]

For some reason all individual images of the obverses and reverses of the 2001 series Canadian bills have been deleted (except for the $5 bill). Does anyone know why this has happened, or how to get them back? --thirty-seven 21:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
