This parts is not only unquoted, but pure propaganda. In old fashioned terms, we are all labor force (working class) if we dont own the company, or poorer class so that "classless society" is just higher wage gap in society. All studies of economical and social inequalities show that gap has widen, not shorten (e.g. Milanovic)

"The state of social classes in society today is disputed. If the actual development is taken by the discussion[citation needed], then western society has moved passed classes to a classless society[citation needed]." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rasvoja (talkcontribs) 21:52, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

yes, this should indeed be merged... Wickedxjade 10:54, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Done, but it's not as seamless as it could be. Tocharianne 17:55, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Interwiki Advice

[edit]

Added the note about the german wiki since I see that in neither does this article have a Marxism or other project template. If there is an existing tag for this purpose please use it instead. 74.78.162.229 (talk) 15:27, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lede Rewrite

[edit]

The prior text was simple-minded, crude, distorting, etc. My heart sank a little when I saw the degree to which I'm a major contributor to this article. OTOH it was bouyed by the realization that except for the problem of education and all that it entails, we actually are pretty close right now. 72.228.150.44 (talk) 18:02, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also removed {{German|Klassenlose Gesellschaft|October 16, 2006}} from the references section, a survey of the interwiki links indicates this is by far the most substantial article ATM. Lycurgus (talk) 04:19, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OR Tag on Central Concept §

[edit]

It's current position in mainspace is not Classless society (Marxism) so some discussion of the subject of the article from perspectives other than Marxism is appropriate. I didn't see anything meriting the tags especially and will remove if no further comment. 72.228.177.92 (talk) 18:33, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually went ahead and did a clean-up as noted in the edit log. 72.228.177.92 (talk) 18:41, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Current State

[edit]

While I did clean the Classlessness §, didn't comprehensively address the other one. I'm already far and away the major contributor to this article so I didn't want to do the same for the other. FTR I am aware that it makes ignorant statements about Marxist theory in the first sentence of the first ¶ 72.228.177.92 (talk) 19:00, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Socialism

[edit]

in my opinion socialism is not classless it is defined as a unequal distribution of money —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.238.167.85 (talk) 00:10, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing section

[edit]

In the section titled Marxist Definition, the 2nd and 3rd paragraph do not seem to fit together. I thought that the second paragraph seemed inconclusive. Ninjastriker13 (talk) 19:53, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

further editing needed

[edit]

'completed, as the productive forces burst their confinement in bourgeois society as they did those of feudal- and orientalism, and the contradiction of class society is finally resolved into a version of the prior classless state but at the much higher level of human development that would be in effect then.' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.84.68.252 (talk) 02:21, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

John Major

[edit]

may not have been the transformative leader that Thatcher or Blair were, but at least in British contexts this phrase is strongly associated with his regime. The article needs at least a mention if not a section on his use of the term and in what ways it differed from Marxism &c. — LlywelynII 18:31, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Social libertarianism?

[edit]

How does this section elucidate left-libertarian ideas about a classless society? All it seems to contain right now are very general statements about the various currents in left-libertarianism and the relations between them, but nothing on what they have to say about the classless society, which is the topic of the article. Scope

[edit]

What topics are meant to be included in this article? Theories of how classless societies would/do function? Note that class society is covered as a section within social class. Since that article already covers the precepts of Marxist class theory, is this separate article not a duplication? For that article to be complete, it would have to cover any concepts of classess society covered in this overview article. It sounds like it would be best to redirect or merge this article there. czar 15:25, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
