Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because Conor Coady has played a senior game for a professional football team in a professional league which meets the minimum criteria for creating a page about a professional footballer. There was a page previously created about Coady but it was created when he was still part of the Liverpool Youth Academy and hadn't featured for the senior team yet.--Danny 93 (talk) 16:58, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
- None of the sources say anything about that. That would need verification in reliable sources. This source is vague about what it's saying, all it says it that the individual has "come through the system" and it is his first time starting a game, but he's been part of that group since at least 2010 and didn't meet the notability requirements then either. - SudoGhost 17:09, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
- BBC Sport is probably a better reference to use. He did start in the Europa League game against Anzhi Makhachkala, so this page should not be deleted. JMHamo (talk) 17:24, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
- That's a much, much better source. The other source is apparently a "as it's happening" article, which didn't give any context whatsoever and didn't verify that anything was different about it. I removed the speedy deletion tag because from that it probably does warrant an article, and if it doesn't it's substantially different enough that a second AfD would be warranted as opposed to a speedy deletion. - SudoGhost 17:33, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
