I need to know the original sources

[edit]

There are two sources that I can't find online, but I need to control them to assure that I can use them for my thesis: [6] Michalowski, Helen (May 1982). "Five feminist principles and the draft". Resistance News (8): 2 and [7] Neudel, Marian Henriquez (July 1983). "Feminism and the Draft". Resistance News (13): 7.

Who put them in the page? Where can I find them?

Conscription effects on educational level attainment and earnings potential

[edit]

The journal reference has the impact on college graduation rates and future earnings impact. From the abstract:

  1. decreases the proportion of Dutch university graduates by 1.5 percentage points from a baseline of 12.3 per cent.
  2. reduces the probability of obtaining a university degree by almost four percentage points.
  3. The effect of military service on earnings is also negative and long-lasting. Approximately 18 years after military service, we still find a negative effect of 3 to 4 per cent.

i don't recall the specifics, came here to look it up, but i think a federal court gave congress some time to act before it would be declared unconstitutional by the courts, and i think a proposal passed the house but not the senate, maybe vice versa. maybe someone who knows the details could update the article. 47.248.177.193 (talk) 00:17, 1 November 2021 (UTC)gtbear at gmail, arbitrary aardvark.[reply]

400CHF ($420)

[edit]
  • there's no date provided; as of 16 June 2022, the USD is at parity with the CHF
  • between "400" and "CHF", IMO there should be a space
  • what does "$" mean? USD? MEX? ARS?
  • in the provided ref, I can find neither any "400" nor any "420" Grillofrances (talk) 01:56, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Men and women in Israel are not conscripted on the same conditions. i.e. Women are conscripted for shorter terms (24 months Vs 30 months), men remain reservists until age 54 (for women it is 24) and mothers are exempted from service (fathers are not). More women are also granted exemptions on religious grounds. MaximumOccupancy (talk) 22:20, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Norway, Sweden and Erithrea(?)

[edit]

Hello! I'm unsure whether it makes sense to add Eritrea to the list of countries for which it is mandatory for women (too) to be conscripted. Formally, they do not have any diversification in roles. The only thing is that they suffer a lot more sexual abuse.

https://wri-irg.org/en/story/2011/eritrean-women-crossfire-between-conscription-and-denial-conscientious-objector-status.

I believe Eritrea should be added to the initial list with a note at the bottom. WikiArilù (talk) 08:36, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
