Redirect

[edit]

I propose a redirect / merge with ethical consumerism or animal rights. 217.50.71.157 (talk) 17:28, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. There is obvious overlap with those topics but this one seems sufficiently distinct that we can make something of it. I shall improve the article to demonstrate. Warden (talk) 18:06, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose I think it passes notability for long, and it should be expanded instead of emerged into something else. --14.198.220.253 (talk) 10:29, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose I am in favor of expanding rather than contracting or merging the cruelty-free coverage. MaynardClark (talk) 21:22, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Support In the last ten years, this article has not significantly improved and employs language which lacks objectivity. I fail to see how it contributes anything that is not already covered in the well-written article on Testing cosmetics on animals which explains the term "cruelty free" in its third paragraph and has a section dedicated to non-profits like "Cruelty Free International." Bias

[edit]

Referencing a biased organisation without expressly mentioning that the organisation is biased is misleading. There is a passage which I noticed contained language I had seen in other propaganda, I checked, and it was indeed from Cruelty-Free International. "A cosmetic ingredient" is not a thorough description, and to then say that the animal is treated cruelly is subjective. The animals may have been treated cruelly, but we don't know, and if we don't know, it's best to not make such allegations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.27.157.230 (talk) 21:06, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Product Labels

[edit]

I just want to bring up how people often think that cruelty-free and vegan labels are interchangeable. For those who are vegan, cruelty-free labels are important to look out for, but that does not mean that the product is free of animal ingredients. I think it is important to mention the difference because people who look for cruelty-free labels are often vegans. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Corodovia (talkcontribs) 15:28, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
