Notability
[edit]So, it's clear the article in the earlier submitted state did not yet establish notability. I think it is likely from cursory searches that this individual is notable per WP:CREATIVE points 1 or 3. (4 is a possibility, TSP continues to receive massive critical attention, and 2 is certainly possible but harder to find citations for). I think one of the issues in establishing this subject's notability is that there is little biographical info outside of interviews. However, that should not be strictly necessary per above policies, since the notability of a significant work alone (TSP is the big one, but TBG helps) would be sufficient. I'll work on this a bit —siroχo 00:39, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
- Followup, I've added to the article several academic sources that discussed the subject in the context of his work, tying it directly to the subject as well as analyzing his style as a game designer/author. Should be sufficient for WP:BASIC or WP:GNG. —siroχo 07:04, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
- Copied from a message I left at User talk:WikiOriginal-9, here's a partial source analysis of some recently added sources for BASIC and CREATIVE:
- Daniel Bischoff's article Stanley Parable Creator Explains Struggle Between Creator And Audience After Game of the Year Award Wins has SIGCOV of the subject (note the quotes in this piece are not an interview, but secondary coverage including quotes from a primary source, an archived version which is linked in this article).
- Frank G. Bosman, Archibald L.H.M. van Wieringen's book Video Games as Art has SIGCOV of the subject for BASIC (some of which is summarized in the article), as well as in-depth coverage of the subject's work for CREATIVE.
- Braxton Soderman's book Against Flow: Video Games and the Flowing Subject has SIGCOV of the subject for BASIC (some of which is summarized in the article), as well as in-depth coverage of the subject's work for CREATIVE.
- Alayna Cole, Dakoda Barker's book Games as Texts: A Practical Application of Textual Analysis to Games has SIGCOV of the subject for BASIC (some of which is summarized in the article), as well as in-depth coverage of the subject's work for CREATIVE.

- Thank you for posting this here! I was just on my way to make mention of what you wrote out. He's directed two independently notable works as well as some others that have received coverage to varying degrees. It's enough that he'd pass notability guidelines if he were a film director. I'm admittedly not sure how it differs for video games, but I don't think it would be that much different, particularly since he was a key director for both of the two games he's most well known for.
