Untitled[edit]

This was clearly written by their label...

Most of the stuff on it should be removed. Xdiabolicalx 22:07, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this really should be wiped, and started from scratch. J Milburn 17:33, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have now edited this page so that it is no longer a blatant advert, but it is still not a very good article. I don't know much about the band, and I have made a pretty poor job of it anyway... Could anyone else bring it up to a better standard? J Milburn 00:24, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

infobox :P everything on wikipedia needs one! --Amckern 13:51, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
JK - but good job :)
Only a pretty new member, I wanted to do one... I will give it a try now. J Milburn 08:17, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done, this article is now alot better than it was! J Milburn 08:38, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Genre[edit]

I think this warrants disscussion, as it is edited frequently. They are Industrial Metal, yes, but they also show Shock Rock and Hard Rock elements, aswell as just a hint of Black/Death Metal. No? The lyrics suggest a gothic influence. Am I wrong? J Milburn 10:06, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say that the black/death metal influence doesn't warrant a mention. It is pretty much non-existant, at least on the new album. Also, mentions of shock rock and hard rock should probably be omitted too. They don't really tell you anything since shock rock really isn't even a music genre (used to describe the show of the band, not the music) and any hard rock elements are pretty much included in the metal part. Industrial/gothic metal is pretty much what I'd call this stuff. MacMoney 23:21, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
'Gothic Metal', no. Gothic influence to lyrics, yes. J Milburn 12:30, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely a gothic metal-influence in the vocals and use of keyboards. MacMoney 21:32, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed alot of the first paragraph because it didn't give any real information, especially the quote from their website and updated the Record Label (someone wrote "Nightmare Industries") to Nuclear Blast. As for the genre I would just leave it as Industrial Metal because that seems to cover it all and don't see where black/death metal comes into their music in the first place. Sorry for putting all the changes I've made in the "Genre" section but I'm fairly new to Wikipedia and still working things out. ~ Mr. Calavera

Yeah, all the mistakes you are talking about were by me, I barely know the band. I agree with you about the 'Industrial' part now. However, I think it is now a stub. J Milburn 16:53, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess thats my fault, I'll try and dig something up but the bio on the band's site has nothing to do with its history, it just describes the latest album. ~ Mr. Calavera

Ok I just added the members and their role to the description at the top, I can't find anything elce to add so I'm sorry its still a stub - all the websites I looked at have very similar things written about them or little (if anything) that could be used. ~ Mr. Calavera

They describe themselves as 'Death Glam'

Just because they describe themselves as "Death Glam" does not make that their Genre. Genre must be an agreed upon Genre already in existence and supported by third party. --dashiellx (talk) 11:03, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

666 Single[edit]

I wont have the time to add the correct info about the 666, but if some one can do it for me, i'll be happy.--Amckern 07:01, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to the link you gave, it was an April Fools day joke? Or was that just the song? I found the forum rather difficult to read. J Milburn 11:28, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You might be correct - I'll wait till the said date, and see what happens - if nothing i'll edit, and remove the single's info. --Amckern 11:20, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No single has being released and on their forum it says it was just a hoax so I've removed what you put in the Singles section. Mr. Calavera 16:52, 7 June 2006
Yeah, it was just a joke ;)

Names[edit]

I think it would be better to just have their band names instead of their real names, so just Whiplasher etc since thats all they use in the album booklets etc etc

Why would it be better? Because it is more commonly known? Providing both is surely far better? This is an encylopedia, not a music magazine. J Milburn 16:56, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do we really need the list of band members in the intro and in the current-members block immediately beneath it? Moopet 17:12, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

I suggest putting a new image up in place of the current one...

http://www.deathstars.net/gallery/mixed_pictures/Deathstars-060415-MJ-7500.jpg

This one shows all the current band members including the live guitarist Cat

Agreed on the new pic, if you can get the copyright status on it. 71.113.28.53 06:23, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The picture in the link above is copyrighted and under a non free license. The one currently in the article is free, and shows most members. J Milburn 13:14, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New Album[edit]

Why isn't the "We Are The Threat" Album noted in the main Discography?

Two reasons- one, nobody has bothered to put it in, and/or two, no one has provided a source. J Milburn 15:13, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That album, is from a band called XDeathstarX not the Deathstars! and that's why it isn't up.

Alien Sex Fiend[edit]

They are so reminiscient of Alien Sex Fiend from the early 80's with vocals too similar to Pete Murphy of Bauhaus —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.3.193 (talk) 16:54, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Goodbye Vice[edit]

http://www.deathstars.net/deathstars-and-drummer-oscar-vice-leander-have-decided-to-split-ways/

Vice has left the band. I do not know enough about adding the citations and all, can someone put this up? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MajorCooke (talkcontribs) 01:58, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
