On 2 January 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved to Gulf 12 Hours, 12th edition. The result of the discussion was no consensus.

Awkward numbering

You know, these are officially known by their edition numbers and this year-based number scheme is something that Wikipedia editors are dreaming up. Seeing as how they don't fit neatly into year-by-year numbering, and what I just said about the official editions, why don't we number them that way instead, unambiguously? Oppose primarily on the grounds that I see no evidence of WP:COMMONNAME, but also on the grounds of Wikipedia:Article titles#Natrual and Wikipedia:Article titles#concise and Wikipedia:Article titles#recognise - how many people know that the 2017 edition was the 7th one, let alone refer to it as such?
