Religion Population by District
[edit]To the IP editor (122.162.x.x) who has been updating the figures in the "Religion Population by District" section: many thanks for your contributions, and in particluar for citing the source in the edit summary. I've checked out a couple of districts against the data at http://www.censusindia.gov.in/Dist_File/datasheet-03xx.pdf (xx = district number) and agree with your changes. What we need to do now is cite your source in the article; I'll do that now. Thanks again, Timberframe (talk) 16:06, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Punjab pre partion religion
[edit]The data used is oversimplified, for instance the current indian Punjab doesn't include Jind much of that princely state went to Haryana during 1966 East punjab bifurcation, another instance is the overwhelming hindu subdistrict of Una on Hoshiarpur went to Himachal Pradesh but the population is still included in Punjab's calculations in the table, there are a few other instances.
Additionally the entire Ad dharma population is lumped with Hindus which is entirely wrong, a quick Google search might help here, the overwhelming Addharmi population is Sikh and a smaller proportion 10-30% is Hindu. 122.149.26.185 (talk) 09:33, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
1946 statistics
[edit]User:Shubhdeep Sandhu, which source(s) were used when displaying the 1946 statistics? There was no census taken during that year. The sources that were added in the pie chart are either not cited correctly (broken links) or do not contain any of the statistics that were added onto the page.
