I redirected DCVS to Concurrent Versions System. A Google for CVS version control gets 8.2 million hits, DCVS version control less than 800. By strong consensus WP:ISNOT a directory; however, if you can provide information demonstrating a substantial user base or widespread media coverage I am confident that a separate article can be justified. - Just zis  Guy, you know? I restored the redirect. It is the nature of open-source software that multiple versions become available. What is different about this one? - Just zis  Guy, you know? [T]/[C] (W) AfD? 13:12, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

DCVS must by nature be very new, while CVS is seriously entrenched. (Subversion for instance is superior, but is only displacing cvs slowly). This explains the google discrepency you saw. DCVS is sufficiently unique that it certainly warrents its own article. Note also that CVS is itself an evolution from RCS, in case you wish to pursue an argument along that line. The one thing that is certainly true is that DCVS is not CVS, so a redirect seems inappropriate here. Kim Bruning 17:16, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
